1.The CONE ‘opens’ the coat, ideal for compact double coats or tightly curled coats, for dematting and getting out the undercoat. The air comes out like a vortex / tornado, so it can ‘twist’ long coats, causing knots. If you notice knots or tangles, use a spade nozzle instead, or hold the cone nozzle further back from the coat, or turn down your dryer.
2.Use the SPADE nozzle for ‘ironing’ curly coats for an easier clip and for general drying. Also known as water strippers or standard dryer nozzles. They force out as much water as possible. They save finishing time by straightening the coat. The air comes out in a straight line, so matting is minimal.
3.The WIDE spade nozzle is great for longer coats prone to knotting, and for lay-flat or drop coats like the Shih Tzu or Maltese. Groomers often turn down the air force and use it as a finishing nozzle after excess water is blown off. It has less pressure making it ideal for a coat you want to lay flat, but doesn’t dry as fast as the spade.
4. The COMB nozzle (sometimes referred to as a "fluffer nozzle") on a dryer serves multiple purposes:
·Straightening Hair/Fur: The comb nozzle helps to straighten and lay the hair or fur down in a natural direction while drying. This is particularly useful for breeds or animals with long or thick hair.
·Removing Tangles and Knots: As the air flows through the comb, it assists in detangling knots and matted areas, making the hair easier to comb or brush afterward.
·Efficient Drying: By combing through the hair while drying, the comb nozzle allows for more air to reach individual hair strands, speeding up the drying process.
·Increasing Volume: In breeds or animals where a fluffier appearance is desired, the comb nozzle can be used to fluff up the hair while drying.
· Distributing Natural Oils: The act of combing while drying helps distribute the natural oils present on the skin through the hair or fur, promoting a healthier shine.
·Reducing Static: Combing while drying can help reduce static buildup in the hair, which can be a common problem, especially in dry conditions.
